1940 and 1950 Census enumeration district maps
For the Japantowns project, I digitized 1940 and 1950 Census enumeration district maps for a number of cities. These will be posted once the paper is published. Chicago zoning and land use
1923 use and volume zoning shapefilesFor the use zoning districts, only the residential, commercial, and industrial districts were drawn in. All other areas fall into apartment districts. The PCS is EPSG:3435. The text and maps of the ordinance are here. Relevant citation is here.

Chicago 1922 land use survey shapefiles
The GCS is EPSG:4269. Two small areas are unpopulated due to illegible maps; those areas are depicted in the shapefile here. The original survey maps can be found at the University of Chicago Library Map Collection here. Relevant citation is here.
